2014 HOF Inductee
Bernard Arnella ‘75
Bernie Arnella joined CBA as a freshman in September 1971 and, apart from his college years and a few years afterward, has been a fixture at the Academy ever since. As the director of plant and facilities, Arnella is so involved on campus that many students and new faculty members assume he lives there (he does not).
He graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1979 with a B.S. in physical education and joined CBA as a physical education teacher in 1981. Soon after, he took on coaching roles in freshman and JV baseball and basketball, as well as the intramural sports program.
Arnella worked part-time for Br. John Loehr on the school maintenance crew and became director of maintenance in 1992. He now oversees the upkeep of CBA’s 157-acre campus with numerous facilities.
Bernie and his wife, Karen, live in Atlantic Highlands and have three children: Christopher (CBA ’01), Jannien, and Matthew (CBA ’04).

Brother Charles Kitson, FSC ’66
Br. Charles Kitson was immediately drawn to the Brothers’ unique blend of spirituality, community life, and humor when he met them. After graduating from CBA in 1966, he entered the Brothers’ novitiate at Barrytown, NY. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from Catholic University of America and two master’s degrees in communications from Notre Dame and counseling from Providence College.
Br. Charles began his teaching career at St. Raphael’s in Pawtucket, RI, then became the district vocation director, and later served as director of campus ministry at La Salle Academy in Providence. He also worked in Guatemala and as a clinical social worker at Tides Family Services. His notable role was as coordinating secretary for the Lasallian Family and Association (2008-2013), where he traveled globally for lay partner formation. Now back in Lincroft, he serves as the auxiliary visitor for the District of Eastern North America.

Robert W. Lutkewitte '82
Bob Lutkewitte is a standout in CBA track-and-field history, holding an unbroken shot put record and excelling in the discus and javelin. Indoors, he won the Hudson County CYO Invitational, Monmouth County Championship, state relay championship, and set the indoor school record with a 60’6” shot put at the NJCTC Championship.
Outdoors, Lutkewitte made a mark early in his freshman year and was a top thrower by his senior year. He won the Rutgers Relays, Long Branch Relays, Jersey Relays, Monmouth County Championship, NJCTC Championship, state championship, and the Meet of Champions.
Lutkewitte received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Tennessee, where he set freshman and sophomore records in shot put and a freshman record in javelin. He transferred to Villanova, graduating with a BS in accountancy in 1986.
He now works as senior director of national accounts at Centurion Medical Products and is active in community service. He lives in Colts Neck with his wife, Louise, and their three children.

Michael L. Quinn '64
Mike Quinn was a standout student at CBA, excelling academically and in extracurricular activities. He built a distinguished career in finance, contributing significantly to CBA’s major capital projects.
Quinn graduated from Stanford University with a BA in psychology (1968) and earned an MBA in finance from Harvard Business School (1970). He began his career at Dreyfus Corporation, becoming a mutual fund portfolio manager and earning a chartered financial analyst designation (1976). He later led DLJ Securities’ fixed income sales department and, at Merrill Lynch, played a key role in advancing the firm’s fixed income division to the top position. He retired in 1999 as co-head of the equity division and head of the asset management division.
Quinn was also an active volunteer, serving on various boards and as a lead donor for CBA’s Project 50th capital campaign and the Quinn-Sagui Challenge.
He and his wife, Jan, live in Indian Wells, CA, and Sun Valley, ID, with their three children and eight grandchildren.

Tony Reali '96
Tony Reali brings his sharp wit and humor to screens on Good Morning America and ESPN. He joined ESPN in 2000 as a writer for Two Minute Drill and soon became the “Stat Boy” on Pardon the Interruption, where he fact-checked and moderated debates. In 2004, he began hosting Around the Horn, engaging sportswriters in lively discussions. Both shows are watched by millions nationally and globally.
In 2014, Reali joined ABC’s Good Morning America as a contributor, covering a wide range of topics and social media.
Before ESPN and ABC, Reali was a radio sportscaster for WFUV 90.7 FM, covering Fordham University sports and hosting New York City’s longest-running sports call-in show. He also worked on WB11’s nightly news and wrote a fantasy football column for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Reali graduated from Fordham University with degrees in communication and history and lives in Manhattan with his wife, Samiya, and their daughter, Francesca.

David J. Santamaria '98
Dave Santamaria is one of CBA’s greatest wrestlers, starting from his freshman year and becoming the only Colt wrestler to win every dual meet of his high school career. He was a four-time district champion, three-time Region 6 Champion, and placed fourth in the state tournament as a freshman, rising to second place in his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Santamaria finished his high school career with a 123-7 record.
After college wrestling, Santamaria focused on physical therapy, earning his doctorate cum laude from UMDNJ-SHRP in 2008. His specialization included outpatient orthopedics and sports-related injuries. He co-founded Shore Wellness Center with his brother, Michael ’89, in Oakhurst and Red Bank.
Following his high school legacy, Dave returned as a volunteer wrestling coach at CBA, contributing to three state sectional titles (2006, 2012, 2013) and the District 22 team title after 46 years.

Paul H. Molzon ’72
A devoted member of CBA’s Alumni Association and the Lincroft community, Paul Molzon has been a lifelong resident of Lincroft. He graduated from St. Leo’s in 1968, entered Christian Brothers Academy that fall, and graduated from CBA in 1972. Paul earned a business degree from St. Michael’s College in 1976.
In 1981, Paul and his brother Jerry (CBA ’78) founded Molzon Landscape Nursery, Inc., on the family farm. Their landscape design-build business, including a garden center, has grown significantly over the past 30 years.
Paul has served on the board of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association (NJNLA) and was president of the CBA Alumni Association from 2006 to 2008. He has chaired the CBA Clambake for eight years, turning it into the largest Alumni Association fundraiser, and led the Alumni Association Awards Dinner for five years.
Paul and his wife, Jean, have three children: Paul (CBA ’04), Katherine, and Susan.

1977 Baseball Team
The 1977 Colts baseball team began their season with an impressive four wins in five games, including a record-breaking 23-6 victory over St. Joseph’s. With four starters fresh from JV, they defied expectations throughout the season.
On June 4, 1977, they clinched CBA’s first NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship with a 2-1 upset over Seton Hall. Key plays included runs driven in by the late Tom Warshaw ’77 and strong pitching by Bill Kurtz ’77, capped by four double plays, the last ending the game. Coach Martin Kenney called it “the best thing that ever happened to CBA baseball.”
