2021 HOF Inductee
Jack Kelly
Jack Kelly, a dedicated supporter of Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) for over 30 years, is honored by his Hall of Fame induction. Though not a CBA graduate, Jack’s involvement began with his sons Ryan (‘92) and Kevin (‘96) and his active role in the Father’s Club. In 2001, he joined CBA’s Board of Trustees and is now Co-Vice Chairman, leading the Investment and Advancement Committees. Jack has significantly grown CBA’s endowment, which has increased tenfold in 20 years. He notes that while CBA’s facilities have evolved through successful capital campaigns, the core Lasallian spirit and commitment to quality education remain unchanged. Jack also contributes to Latham Centers and has served on Fairfield University’s Board. Retired from Goldman Sachs, he and his wife Jo-Ann reside in Spring Lake, NJ, with their four children and nine grandchildren.

Maurice Maloney '67
Maurice “Mac” Maloney, CBA Class of 1967, graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1971 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. He began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecutor in Hudson County before moving to private practice at Healy, Falk, and Maloney. He later established his solo practice in Red Bank, where he worked for 30 years. Active in the Monmouth County Bar Association and Holmdel Kiwanis Club, Mac has also coached basketball for local schools. His family has a long-standing connection with CBA, including his own graduation and his son’s involvement. Mac values the Alumni Association’s role in maintaining CBA’s traditions.

Philip Hinck ‘71
Philip Hinck, CBA Class of 1971, has dedicated over 20 years to directing races that raised over $500,000 annually for charities such as Special Olympics and the Food Bank. An All-American Cross Country runner and Olympic Trials Qualifier, Phil continues to direct major races like the Spring Lake Five and the Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix. He also held roles on various race committees and boards, contributing to local sports and community events. Phil is considering returning to school and aims to win his age group at the Boston Marathon. He has a strong connection to the running community and remains active in charitable endeavors.

Thomas Duerr '05
Thomas Duerr, CBA Class of 2005, excelled in lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University, where he was Team Captain and received the Cowan Hard Hammer Award. A standout player, he contributed to the NCAA Division I Championship in 2007 and was a runner-up in 2008. At CBA, he was a four-year varsity starter, All-American, and New Jersey Attackman of the Year. Thomas also served as Head Coach at Cathedral Catholic High School. His accomplishments highlight his exceptional athletic career and leadership in lacrosse.

George J. Doehner
George J. Doehner, a Newark native, excelled in baseball and football at Seton Hall Prep before graduating from Villanova University in 1969. He built a successful career at Bulkley Dunton Publishing Group, where he became president before retiring. His wife, Kathy, a former teacher and athletic director, was deeply involved with CBA. They had five sons who all graduated from CBA, continuing a family legacy of support. Kathy passed away in 2016, and the Kathy Doehner Memorial Scholarship now supports students from St. Leo’s attending CBA. George remains a committed supporter of the Academy.

John F. Croddick '63
John F. Croddick, from CBA’s inaugural Class of 1963, is the founder and former CEO of Cosmetic Essence, a leading fragrance and personal care manufacturer. Under his leadership, the company expanded globally. John is retired and has served on the boards of Georgian Court University and Collier Youth Services. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors at Christian Brothers Academy. John, with his wife Virginia, has five children and continues to contribute to both the business and educational communities.

Cathleen Carroll
Cathleen Carroll, a CBA educator for over four decades, began her career right after graduation and has significantly impacted the school community. She teaches World History and AP courses and serves as CBA’s Lasallian Animator and Academic Team Coach. Cathy has organized numerous educational trips and received several awards, including the Fulbright Memorial Fund and US State Department Global Teacher Prize. She is a proud aunt of CBA alums and continues to inspire students with her dedication to education and travel.

Basil Iwanyk ’88
Basil Iwanyk, CBA Class of 1988, is the founder of Thunder Road Pictures, known for producing hit films like “John Wick” and “A Star is Born.” His company has produced acclaimed movies, including “Sicario” and “Hotel Mumbai.” Thunder Road is working on the third installment of the “John Wick” series. Basil’s success in the film industry highlights his creative leadership and impact on cinema. He continues to develop new projects and maintain his role as a significant figure in Hollywood.

'98 Soccer Team
The 1998 Soccer Team had an extraordinary season, finishing with a record of 20-0-2. They won the Shore Conference tournament by defeating Neptune 3-1 and captured the South Jersey Parochial A title with a 5-0 victory over Monsignor Donovan. They continued their dominance by beating then #1 Delbarton 5-0 to secure the State Championship. Coached by Dan Keane and assisted by Jeff Matson, Tom Mulligan, Pat Rooney, and Steve McKee, the team was ranked #1 in New Jersey and #12 nationally. Br. Augustine Nicoletti, FSC, served as moderator, and Daniel Carragher was the manager. The team members included John Arbour, Joseph Barham, Kenneth Brady, Timothy Connolly, James Curley, Sean Feeney, Rory Fitzgerald, Curtis Fox, Steven Gachinero, Nathanael Glackin, Craig Hopkins, Richard Krzeminski, Justin McCarthy, David McCue, Bradford Murphy, Dennis Ondrejik, David Pires, Travis Printz, Jason Rademacher, Christopher Rizzolo, Paul Santos, David Treharne, and Vincent Vitale.
